Plan tab: tap 📍 Start here (or Home), search a destination, then Route it. Add more stops by searching again or turning on tap-to-add.
Our routing server sleeps when nobody's using it and takes about 10 seconds to wake. After that it's quick.
Trails first prefers bike paths, may include gravel. Paved, quiet roads avoids gravel and traffic. Safest leans on bike lanes. Fastest paved is the direct option. Recumbent / trike favors smooth, wide surfaces.
Tap the red circle on the map. It disappears and the route re-plans. Clear on the Plan tab removes everything.
After routing, camps, water/food, towns, weather, closures, and fishing run on their own. A red dot on the Along tab means the summary is ready. You can open Along early to watch progress, or turn auto-run off in Plan → Route options.
Today tab → Ride mode. It speaks each turn, warns before hills, dims between turns, and re-routes if you leave the line. Hit a closed road? Tap Stuck.
A text to your emergency contact with a map link to where you are. Set the contact above. In an emergency call 911.
Miles ridden against the range you entered, scaled by your usual assist mode. The app isn't connected to the bike, so treat it as a guide and watch your display.
Yes, when you're signed in with Google. Tours, ride log, home, contact, bike, and these settings follow you to any device.
Along → Map offline saves the map tiles for a routed tour. Routing and searches still need a signal; turn-by-turn on a saved route works without one.
iPhone: Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen. Android: Chrome → Install.
Sign in, then Today → 📡 Share live and send the link. While you're in Ride mode your position updates about every 15 seconds. Whoever opens the link sees your dot, route, speed, miles left, and ETA — no app or sign-in needed. The link stays the same every ride.
Organizer: name the tour, add stops, sign in, then Save → 👥 Group tour and send the link. Riders who open it get the stops and route automatically, and any later change you publish reaches them. Riders in Ride mode show up as named dots on everyone's map.
Save → History → 📄 on any ride. A printable summary (distance, times, speeds, track outline) plus a GPX file with every time-stamped point and a fingerprint that proves the file wasn't edited.
The app checks National Weather Service alerts along your route when you route it, and every 10 minutes in Ride mode. Warnings show on the Today tab; severe ones (tornado, severe thunderstorm, flash flood, blizzard…) are spoken and buzz the phone. Shelter in Trouble lists the nearest sturdy buildings — gas stations, stores, churches, libraries, schools — not picnic shelters or underpasses.
Plan → Route options → style Walk or Wheelchair. Routes prefer sidewalks and paths and use the street only where there's no sidewalk (wheelchair mode also avoids steps and flags raised curbs). After routing you get a Walk safety card: how much is in the street, crossings, fast roads, sunset time and unlit stretches. On the walk, voice warns before each one. Iowa law: with no sidewalk, walk on the left facing traffic (Iowa Code 321.326); cities may add their own sidewalk rules.
Yes. Settings → My ride → turn on trike mode and enter your vehicle width; the barrier check then flags bollards and gates you won't fit through. Use the route style Paved, quiet roads if your vehicle isn't allowed on bike trails, and set Pace to your real speed.
Lodging and shop info comes from OpenStreetMap and Geoapify and can be out of date; call ahead. Closures come from state DOT feeds, which mostly cover highways. Ride by the signs in front of you.
Your stops, saved tours, ride log, and settings stay on this device unless you sign in to sync. Your location is used to place you on the map and guide you while riding. It leaves your phone only if you turn on Share live or join a group tour: then your position (and name, tour, ETA) is stored in this app's Firebase database every 15 seconds while you ride, readable by anyone who has your link or group code, and your last position stays until you share again or leave the group. Routing, map tiles, places, weather, and Iowa 511 requests go to those providers directly from your phone.

Ride mode speaks each turn, warns before hills, re-routes if you stray, and logs the ride. The 🆘 Trouble panel finds the nearest bike shop or texts your location to a friend.
Your tours, rides, and settings follow you to any device.
